50 Shades of MR DARCY

Whatever next... when Trish Fong mentioned this I thought it HAD to be a joke! But no ladies, it's for real. If anyone has read it, please spill the beans, ..! An enthusaistic reviewer on Amazon says
"If you like satire, you will like this book. If you like the double-entendre that one associates with comedians like Monty Python, you will like this book. If you like Fifty Shades, you will hate this book. And, if you like Pride and Prejudice, just don't go there!

This book is so hyterically funny, I would seriously warn anyone who wants to read it to do so with an empty bladder. I was laughing from the first page. The author, whomever it is in fact, has taken the whole Pride and Prejudice theme and turned it completely upside down. Apart from the BDSM parody, it also parodies a book which can sometimes be taken far too seriously. And when, at the end of the book, the characters discuss whether they should finish things or risk a sequel, I found myself laughing even more. This book would probably be seen as very politically incorrect, but it is very cleverly written."

Come on girls - tell me more!

Colin Firth in King's Speech sequel

Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter are reuniting to make a sequel to The Oscar winning film, The King's Speech.

We're thrilled especially as many of the original team will be involved. And we're going on a research tour of the locations - well why not!?

The Sun newspaper has said "A movie source said the sequel will be set during the carnage of World War Two’s Blitz.
Amazingly it will not focus on how George struggled to control his stammer as bombs rained down on London. The insider said: “The sequel is going to be about the experience of families during the Blitz. It will focus on how the privileged Royal Family was hit by the crisis, compared to the more ordinary family of George VI’s speech therapist.
“The focus will be on George but it will also show how the whole royal household was affected. There’s still amazing interest in the Blitz. The movie is still in the very early stages but everyone’s keen to get going soon.”"

Who said life was fair?

Dressed to impress: Michelle looked amazing in the gown, which featured a large bow on the back

Ok so Downton Abbey 's Michelle Dockery gets to go to the Emmys, gets to wear the fab costumes in Downton Abbey, and gets to wear this Louis Vuitton dress too. Who said life was fair?

We're enjoying the start of Series 3 of Downton Abbey but more for the costumes and locations than the plot... so far. There's no let up on requests for our escorted tours to the filming locations though, even though Highclere is closed, people are still keen to see the other locations. It's nice to see so many solo travellers, expecially the girls. We're keeping an eye out for forthcoming costume exhibitions .....

New role for Colin Firth

We're really excited to read this bit of news today about Colin and Helen Mirren.

He's always best in the quality scripts, rather than the embarrassing rom-coms. Just my opinion!

We're back

It has been far too long - but after a really busy 2012 tour season, I've collapsed in a heap for a few days and am back refreshed. Big plans for our new project - chauffeur driven elite escorted tours of England, which are aimed at solo or pairs of travellers who dont want any hassle when they come to England.

We had some of the best P&P 4 day tours ever this year and met gorgeous people, and are loving the new Downton Abbey series. Lots of juicy new locations this year too!

I promise to be here again soon
